Workshop-Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Form Design

transact business and collect information.
Even with the advances made in information technology over the last 10 years, today's
forms-centric processes are still largely manual making them time consuming and inefficient.
As companies look to find ways of automating their processes especially those that contain a form
or set of forms, Novanis is taking their unique talents for delivering innovative solutions

These two in particular have solutions that speak directly to the challenges of breaking down
the barriers of the paper world and the digital world.
Solution Scenarios: "Choosing the Right Approach"
When determining the best approach to streamlining the processing of forms, having control of the form's
structure and knowing the technology available to the form's
recipient are two key factors that will provide what direction can be taken.
When processing forms oftentimes organizations do not have control of the structure of
the form as they may only be the recipient and not the author OR the audience they serve,
may not have the ability to fill in and submit forms electronically.
In the cases where forms are received back as paper or electronic semi-structured versions,
a different capture tools is required to be able to parse data off forms in these states,
and give the data captured a value.
Electronic Forms (eForms) Capture
The Problem: You create PDF forms for various internal and external processes.
These forms are easy to distribute electronically and allow a person to enter data using a PC,
but they may not allow that person to save data or submit electronically.
This leaves you with a form that is filled out using machine print but still requires manual entry of data.
The Solution: EForm creation tools that allow for data to be saved and retain this data within
its layers in a format that can be easily extracted and posted to a line of business system or database.

Paper Based Data Capture
The Problem: You receive hard copy forms via mail or fax and have to manually enter
data into a line of business system. These forms are either filled out by hand or by machine print.
The Solution: Data Capture hardware and software that uses a combination of business logic,
and OCR to find the specific data an organization wants to capture. Semi structured
forms such as invoices, healthcare forms, and applications that are received via mail
and fax are good candidates for this solution.

Bar Code Capture
The Problem: You sponsor forms that can be filled out using a PC but still require a wet signature.
This leaves you receiving hard copy forms that have been filled out electronically
but still require manual entry of data.
The Solution: An EForm that dynamically generates a bar code as a person is filling it out.
If the form has to be printed out so it can be signed, the bar code
allows an agency to receive the hard copy form and very efficiently read the bar code

Description
A unique instructor led hands-on workshop designed to empower new users of Adobe LiveCycle.
The workshop provides a “learn by doing” environment revolving around the creation of two
separate and unique dynamic and interactive forms.
Participants are introduced to all aspects of Enterprise forms design and development through
coordinated class exercises, defined student exercises, and instructor guided tips and techniques.
With the release of Adobe LiveCycle, a new forms development paradigm is enabled to allow
various groups within the Enterprise to participate in the forms design process.
This course addresses this paradigm and provides useful information on forms design
approach in addition to the technical aspects of forms design.
Throughout the class, the various components of LiveCycle are introduced and students are
familiarized with how these components fit into the development of Enterprise class e-Forms solutions.
All materials, tips, techniques and solutions are provided electronically to
participants upon completion of the class.
Course Length: 2 Days
Intended Audience:
Application Developers, Systems Analysts, Form Designers, DBAs, and anyone
interested in getting hands on experience with Adobe LiveCycle Designer and learning
about how it works with Adobe Enterprise LiveCycle.

What You Will Learn:
1. Upon completion of the class, participants will be able to use Adobe LiveCycle Designer
to design and create dynamic and interactive forms that include basic intelligence and work
cohesively with other Adobe LiveCycle products.
2. Participants will have an understanding of the LiveCycle Enterprise IDP as a platform,
and a basic understanding of the various components
3. Script writing is introduced in class but limited to minimize difficulty.
