- 5/28/03 Novanis Hosts IBM pSeries
Announcement and Luncheon
Novanis opened its doors to state government customers for IBM’s Spring pSeries
Announcement and Novanis Master Contract Kickoff Luncheon, held on May 27.
Recent IBM pSeries and AIX product announcements were highlighted, including
the 1.5 and 1.7GHz pSeries systems options in many pSeries systems; the new Model
p615; and the AIX Roadmap Review.
Part of IBM’s current e-server line, the pSeries delivers reliable, cost-effective
solutions for commercial and technical computing applications in the entry-level,
mid-range and high-end UNIX segments. Partnering with IBM has allowed Novanis’ sales
and technical personnel to attain key certifications, greatly enhancing their ability
to assist clients in meeting their technology needs.
The event and luncheon were held at Novanis’ E-Business Center in Springfield, IL.
Novanis also shared information on the advantages of its pSeries Master Contract with the
agencies attending.

5/23/03 LACERS Contract Fortifies Novanis’ Place in
Enterprise Solutions Arena
Novanis has just finished a $100 thousand document management/business
process re-engineering project with the Los Angeles City Employee Retirement
System (LACERS). LACERS manages the employee benefits and pension fund for
approximately 29 thousand City of Los Angeles employees.
This award solidifies our position as a leader in e-DMS/e-BPR enterprise solutions,
said Jim Lue, president of Novanis. It has also allowed us to penetrate a new and
important account. By underscoring the importance of teamwork in our enterprise
solutions, our earlier work in the local government arena paved the way to this
success.
LACERS contracted Novanis to begin a business process re-engineering of their
organization, starting with the department managing health benefits. For that
department, Novanis implemented a Liberty-based, Web-enabled Document
Imaging/Workflow System, to more efficiently and effectively capture, route and
track the documents necessary for member benefit enrollments, changes and
cancellations. The system manages over 25 different form and correspondence
types through a customized Web interface, while routing these documents to the
health and legal groups responsible for benefits administration.

5/14/03 Novanis now on LAUSD Master Contract
Novanis has been recognized as a preferred vendor on the Los Angeles Unified School
District (LAUSD)Master Contract for IT Services. With eleven districts, over
860 schools, and over 700,000 students, and an annual budget well over
a billion dollars, the LAUSD is one of the largest school districts in the United
States.
- 5/14/03 Novanis Co-Hosts Storage Solution Seminar
With CA
Government customers were offered insight on cost-effective storage strategies
at a customer seminar co-hosted by Novanis and Computer Associates at Novanis’
Springfield headquarters on Wednesday, May 14.
The seminar, Achieving Cost Savings with Storage Solutions, explored comprehensive
approaches for optimum storage savings in the state government arena. Novanis and
CA’s storage experts provided attendees with practical implementation advice on
flexible solutions for improving operational efficiency
CA’s BrightStor storage solutions were also highlighted in demos and in the major
presentation, Get the ‘Big Picture’ of Your Storage Environment.
